Canada’s Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne, said: “Discovery is the basis for all progress.”

“By making this major investment in some of Canada’s most promising and innovative researchers, we are supporting scholars and students to become global leaders in their fields.”

Champagne continued, “By helping to push the frontiers of science, we are investing in a better society and a brighter future for Canadians.”

dr Dena McMartin, Vice President for Research at ULethbridge, says the continued success of applicants from the local post-secondary is an indication of the innovative environment nurtured by the faculty.

McMartin stated, “When you have a world-class faculty that is dedicated to their craft and dedicated to their students and discoveries, it fuels their own research programs and inspires colleagues to also champion these funding opportunities.”

“The success of these researchers continues to advance the reputation of their programs in their respective fields, opening up even greater opportunities and further innovation for their students and trainees in the future.”
