Sensor-based sorting specialist, TOMRA Recycling, announces the expansion of its North American customer service network with the addition of Eric C. Olsson as Area Segment Manager – Plastics. This newly created position will be dedicated to strengthening the plastics business by providing in-depth sorting expertise to customers focused on plastic flake recycling.
With his experience in virgin polymer production, Olsson will take the lead to support the plastics market’s transition to a circular life cycle. He will also support TOMRA’s Area Sales Management team in helping customers develop the best optical sorting technology configuration to improve process efficiency and purity of recycled plastic products.
“Eric’s educational and professional background offers a unique combination of extensive experience in the plastics industry and a broad background in chemical engineering. Olsson worked for petrochemical giant Braskem and has spent the last five years in process engineering and sustainable development for the production of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) resins. He was an integral part of the company’s circular economy team tasked with developing a sustainability strategy and advancing the business model for growth through recycled product offerings. Olsson holds a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Mississippi.
