“Was hoping to share this after going into remission. But it’s taking a little longer than I was hoping,” Samantha said in a post about her diagnosis.
Actress Samantha announced to her fans and followers that she has been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis and said on Saturday October 29 that her doctors are confident she will make a full recovery very soon. Taking to Instagram, Samantha wrote: “A few months ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called myositis. Was hoping to share this after going into remission. But it’s taking a little longer than I had hoped.”
Myositis includes a group of rare disorders whose main symptoms are weak, painful, or sore muscles. In an autoimmune disease, the body’s immune system cannot distinguish between our own cells and foreign cells, causing the immune system to mistakenly attack normal cells.
In her post, Samantha further shared, “I’m beginning to realize that we don’t always have to build a strong front. Accepting that vulnerability is something I’m still struggling with. Doctors are confident that I will make a full recovery very soon.” She added, “I’ve had good days and bad days… physical and mentalâ¦. and even if it feels like I can’t take another day with it, that moment somehow passes. I guess it can only mean I’m another day closer to recovery. I love you… THIS WILL PASS TOO.â
Samantha’s upcoming film Yashoda is slated to hit theaters on November 11th. âTheir reaction to the ‘Yashodha’ trailer was overwhelming.
