India records 10,302 new Covid infections, 267 more deaths; active cases drop to 1,248,868, Health News, ET HealthWorld

The number of COVID-19 infections in India rose 10,302 in one day to 3.44.99.925, while the number of active cases fell to 1.24.868 over the same period, according to data from the Union Ministry of Health, updated on Saturday.

The death toll rose to 4,665,349 with an additional 267 fatalities, according to data updated at 8 a.m.

Active cases fell by 1,752 in 24 hours and now account for 0.36 percent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020. The national COVID-19 recovery rate was also recorded at 98.29 percent, the highest since March last year the Ministry of Health Ministry said.

The daily increase in new infections with the coronavirus was below 20,000 for 43 consecutive days and below 50,000 for 146 consecutive days.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.96 percent. In the past 47 days, it was less than 2 percent. The weekly positivity rate was 0.93 percent. For the past 57 days it was below two percent.

The number of people who recovered from the disease rose to 9,339,708 while the death rate was 1.35 percent.

So far, more than 115.79 million euros in vaccine doses have been administered in the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

India’s COVID-19 case list had exceeded 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and exceeded the one million mark on December 19.

India passed the dire milestone of $ 2 million on May 4th of this year and $ 3 million on June 23rd.
