India delivers over 51 lakhs of COVID vaccine in the past 24 hours, Health News, ET HealthWorld

New Delhi: India has administered 51,59,931 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the past 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

With that, cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded $ 115.79 billion.

“As of 7:00 am today, preliminary reports have given up to 1,15,79,69,274 doses of vaccines. This was achieved through 1,19,13,371 meetings, ”reads the statement from the Union Ministry of Health.

Of these, 1,03,82,038 healthcare workers received the first dose and 93,89,728 second doses; 1.83.75.620 front line workers were given the first dose and 1.62.86.345 vaccine doses as the second dose to front line workers.

According to the Ministry of Health, 44.03.91.026 vaccine doses were administered as the first dose and 18.67.51.559 vaccine doses as the second dose in the age group 18-44 years.

Also, in the 45-59 age group, 1/18/84,542 people received the first dose and 10,97,56,295 the second dose, while 11,28,73,841 doses of vaccine were given as the first dose and 7,358,280 doses were given as the second dose to people over 60 Years.

Meanwhile, India reported 10,302 new COVID-19 cases and 267 deaths in the past 24 hours, the Department of Health and Family Welfare said on Saturday.

Of these, Kerala reported 5,754 new cases of COVID-19 infection and 49 deaths.

Meanwhile, India’s active case count stands at 1,248,868, which is now less than 1 percent of total cases, currently 0.36 percent, the lowest since March 2020.
